Neo Netherlands Geomatics & Earth Observation B.V. is op zoek naar een Technical R&D Project Lead

  • Fulltime
  • HBO, WO

Wat ga je doen?

You lead R&D projects with a horizon of one year or more — projects where not everything is defined yet, where structure still needs to be created, where technical choices have to be made, and where sometimes the first step is proving whether something is even possible.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Driving progress — you make sure something comes out of it. Stopping a project is also a valid outcome.
  • Leading innovation projects from kick-off to delivery.
  • Reporting to steering committees on project planning, risks and impact.
  • Challenging technical choices around data, cloud and AI.
  • Managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborating with knowledge institutions, partners and external experts.
  • You’re not the person writing the code — but you understand the technology well enough to ask the right questions, evaluate choices and guide projects on substance.

Wat vragen wij?

Someone who gets energy from complex challenges, who dares to give direction in uncertainty, and who turns innovation into concrete results.

You’re technically strong, self-reliant and curious. You ask critical questions, bring structure and feel comfortable in an environment where the outcome isn’t yet defined.

You also bring:

  • Experience with complex software and data projects, for example building agentic systems.
  • A technical background, for example in software development, data engineering or data science.
  • A strong drive to stay current in a fast-moving field — you actively follow the latest AI and software developments.
  • An affinity with large-scale data processing.

Wat bieden wij?

  • A key role within a growing R&D team.
  • Close collaboration with the R&D Lead.
  • A high degree of responsibility.
  • Work on innovative technology with real societal impact.
  • A hybrid working environment, based in Amersfoort.
