2nd Engineer Water Injection Dredgers (< 500 GT)

What are you going to do?

Water injection dredging fluidizes the seabed which makes it possible to move sediment in a controlled and efficient way. As Second Engineer you take responsibility for the technical heart of these highly automated vessels. You work worldwide with support from our shore based expertise centres. You follow the rhythm of the vessel and you keep our dredging and propulsion systems in top condition. You help identify system issues and improve performance which contributes directly to our global projects.

You work on board one of our water injection dredgers. These are modern vessels with a high level of automation. The atmosphere is practical, international and team focused. You work as the single engineer on board supported by experienced colleagues on shore. You share knowledge with a small crew and you build trust through collaboration. You learn every day and you help push technology forward.

Your key responsibility include:

• Take the lead in maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the automated water injection system. From pumps to nozzles you make sure everything performs at its best.
• Put the safety of your team and the environment first by following strict safety protocols and legal standards to ensure all operations are carried out safely and responsibly.
• Work closely with the crew to make sure every part of the operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Record all operational data, provide clear performance reports and support in identifying and resolving any technical issues.
