Down Under Horeca is looking for a Sous Chef
As a sous chef, you will work with a passionate and friendly team to ensure that dishes leave the kitchen with care. Ideally, you already have some experience as a chef and are ready to take the next step to sous chef. You are a hard worker with a cheerful personality, and your positive attitude is contagious to the rest of the team.
With your experience, you know what it takes to manage a kitchen and its operations independently. You supervise the work of others, provide instructions, and monitor progress and quality.
You will be actively involved in the kitchen, as well as preparing order lists and maintaining contact with suppliers. You have an affinity for events, from food festivals to weddings – you fit well within the Down Under culture.
You gain energy from working with diverse products and enjoy a dynamic work environment. Alongside the chef, you will brainstorm menu changes or develop new recipes, making suggestions and learning from the market and practice. You will also ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations. Additionally, you will guide apprentices in their training, sharing your knowledge. You should either have or be willing to obtain a teaching diploma.
