Wicks B.V. is looking for a geological engineer.

What are you going to do?

As a geologist you will be involved with the interpretation of complex geophysical and geotechnical data, which is used to create 3D soil models with in-house software that will be an important input for work methods, planning and production calculations for dredging tenders and projects. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Organise and execute geophysical surveys with inhouse systems
  • Organize and execute geotechnical investigation
  • Processing and interpretate geotechnical and geophysical data
  • Geological modelling and reporting
  • The point of contact within the team for geological related items

For the execution of these tasks world-wide travelling can be part of the job. This will be on irregular intervals and periods, at various destinations.

What do we ask?

You are proactive, analytical and you want to develop as a Geological Engineer having a key role in one or more tenders/projects. You see a challenge in translating geology to engineering solutions and you have strong skills to communicate this to colleagues and clients. Next to that you possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Applied) Earth Sciences;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • The ambition to develop yourself as a Geological Engineer who acts as a sparring partner for the Tender and Project teams;
  • Good communication skills, independent, taking initiative and work accurately;
  • Willingness to go abroad or offshore when required.

The position is open to starters and people with experience. The position is based in our Rotterdam office.
