Sr. Strategic Sourcing Lead

Wat ga je doen?

In this role you are responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives within your assigned categories, working closely with local sourcing teams, category management and our key suppliers. You provide structure, transparency and direction across the European supplier landscape, ensuring alignment and consistency in execution.

A core part of the role is building strong supplier relationships, leading strategic negotiations and creating visibility on spend, performance and risk. You translate complex data into clear actions and support countries in harmonizing contracts, ways of working and decision‑making.

You will also build and lead a European sourcing network that shares best practices, aligns priorities and strengthens collaboration. Through this, you contribute directly to Mediq’s aim to deliver reliable, sustainable and cost‑effective solutions for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the European sourcing strategy for your categories
• Harmonize and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance, performance management and risk control
• Identify and deliver cost savings through consolidation, renegotiations and scale leverage
• Coordinate and lead strategic supplier negotiations in collaboration with local sourcing leads
• Analyze spend and supplier data and translate insights into improvement plans
• Build and facilitate a European sourcing network to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing
• Execute Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), focusing on service, innovation and sustainability
• Support commercial tenders with supplier input, pricing insights and negotiation support
• Provide clear reporting, transparency and KPI tracking within your category
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and cross-functional collaboration

Wat vragen wij?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement in an international or matrix environment
• Strong background in category strategy, supplier management and complex negotiations
• Strong analytical skills, able to structure, interpret and translate data into actionable insights
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and procurement tools
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and geographies
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage
